Welcome to the Guild of Oregon Woodworkers. The Guild is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on teaching various woodworking techniques, building projects, and using woodworking tools safely. We conduct over 150 classes each year for beginners, intermediate, and professional woodworkers. Community service is also a key goal of the Guild with programs supporting local non-profits serving disadvantaged families, woodworker estate sales, and offering a popular service called "Hire a Woodworker" where people can request custom help from our members.
The items for sale here have all been handcrafted by our members using mostly local hardwoods with design techniques that will last a lifetime and become a family heirloom.
Toy Build - this group of dedicated members builds toys for disadvantaged children. Over a thousand toys are donated each year with a small number reserved for sale to generate funds for the following year's build. They are built under the strict guidelines for toys such as a food safe finish, construction so that no small parts can break off and be a swallow hazard yet still be a fun and beautiful toy that your kids can pass down to their kids.
Project Build - This group of members builds products for sale or good causes. They also use locally harvested hardwoods where possible with designs that use contrasting and figured woods to produce products that will last a lifetime.
One product available is a Do-It-Yourself Jewelry Box to encourage both young and old to experience the exciting world of woodworking. Here is a video of the step-by-step process to build a beautiful box with figured wood.
