Woodworking is a very open ended activity.  From hobbyist to professional woodworker, there's something for everyone.  There are many organized groups in the Portland, Oregon area where you can meet people with like interests and  expand your knowledge of a particular area.

Guild of Oregon Woodworkers

Emphasis on furniture building but a very diverse club with interests in many areas of woodworking.  

Meets the third Tuesday of every month at the Multnomah Arts Center auditorium, 7688 SW Capitol Hwy, Portland, OR.

Cascade Wood Turners 

Meets the third Thursday of each month except December. Meetings usually begin at 6:45 pm at the Pacific Northwest Carpenters Institute ("PNCI"), at 4222 NE 158th Avenue, Portland, Oregon

Northwest Wood Turners

Meets the first Thursday of the month at 7:00pm at the Multnomah Arts Center, 7688 SW Capitol Hwy, Portland, OR.

Pacific Northwest Woodturning Guild

Meets usually the second Tuesday of each month in downtown Portland, OR.
