Special Interest Groups (SIG)

Special Interest Groups are a subset of woodworkers, focused on a particular subject.  They meet on a monthly basis, the second Thursday at the Guild whop, and have discussions and hands-on demonstrations.  Four groups currently exist.

The Hand Tool Special Interest Group - SIG meets on the 4th Wednesday evening of each month (except for November and December) at the Guild Shop from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm.

The Hand Tool SIG is a forum for the discussion, demonstration and education about woodworking using hand powered tools. It is meant to be a place where Guild members can share information about hand tools, their purchase, use, care, and restoration. Another objective is to train Guild members to use the hand tools that are in the Guild shop. Topics are suggested by members of the SIG and taught by Guild members and other hand tool woodworkers.

Come and meet your fellow Guild hand tool enthusiasts. Learn or teach some hand tool skills. We share our knowledge of hand tool woodworking to help others become better woodworkers.

All Guild members are welcome at no charge.

Please register for this event so that we can get a count of possible attendees and better plan the programs.

Thank you.

Ken Hall and Doug Karleskint

The group's focus is on Computer controlled router type tools.  An amazing expanse of opportunities.

Women's SIG

This is a new SIG designed by and for women! We are encouraging our new and old members to meet for the first time and discuss what our interests are, classes we might like to see, SIG projects and enjoy a wonderful gathering for the Women of the Guild. Our hope is that we will gather, share information, give tours, answer questions and create a great an inviting space for future projects to be built.
