Steve Phelps is an Oregon native and seasoned woodwright with over 40 years experience working in the trades. In keeping with his company name, Oregon Winewood, he pairs a vision for wine storage systems with solid wood artistry. Steve uses a wide range of domestic and exotic hardwoods and other natural materials, chosen for their unique characteristics. Then each piece is carefully designed and hand constructed for a marriage of artistic vision through functionality.

Waterfall Wine Credenza

This piece was designed to celebrate the unique characteristics of southern red heart poplar. The wood comes from a mill in North Carolina and has a distinct burgundy grain running through the center. Just as wine has a provenance, wood also contains one-of–a-kind attributes from its origin. The woods’ visual beauty is highlighted by the waterfall design and raw edge. The wine storage appears to float, leaving the natural wood untouched.

Dark Wood Entertainment Wine Tower

The piece is designed as a tableside entertainment unit. A granite top, cutting board and utensil drawer, have been integrated into the functional design.

While the body of the unit is painted, wine storage remains untreated so it will not interact with wine label chemistry causing deterioration

Waterfall Wine Tower

This piece was also designed to celebrate the unique characteristics of southern red heart poplar. Again the wood grain remains uninterrupted by a waterfall design and raw edge. The wine storage appears to float, and leave the natural beauty of the wood untouched.
