This class is part of the Woodworking at the Next Level series, open only to Next Level students.

This class has a number of goals.  Routers are useful machine tools in a wood shop, and have applications from joinery to making moldings.  They’re loud, and they demand respect, so much of what we’ll cover will focus on safety.  The class will begin with router selection, and we’ll discuss the different applications for palm routers, full-sized handheld units, and routers mounted under tables.

We’ll spend a fair amount of time on ten bits that can handle the majority of work in your shop.

We will construct a simple template, and use it to create floating-tenon joinery, a technique that will prove to be of great benefit in subsequent Next Level classes.

A separate tools and materials list will be provided for class registrants.  The list will include stock which must be milled to specific dimensions and brought to class.

If you have questions, please contact class coordinator, Leslie Kantor at email lekan59@comcast.net (enter Guild NL in subject line.)
