Hands On Carving Classes

      Instructor- Mary May

Mary May lives in Charleston, SC and is internationally known.  She is a carver in the classical or traditional sense.  She makes her living carving on commission, teaching in-person classes, publishing and running a successful online carving school.  For more information see her web site by clicking here.

The specific projects Mary will teach won't be decided until the spring, but you can expect that there will be several projects in each two day class, and that they will be different.  She has a vast body to choose from and we will pick ones that emphasize skill building so you can apply the techniques to a variety of projects.  Examples of possibilities include carving a scallop shell out of Walnut, an Acanthus leaf in the Renaissance style, a leaf on the shoulder of a cabriole leg, lettering, and architectural moldings.

COST for each two day class is to be determined but will probably be in the $375 range each . It's free to sign up on the interest list.
