Hands On Safety Test (HOST) session
Examiner: TBD

*Prerequisites    - Completion of the Safety Orientation meeting (S&O) is required before taking the HOST.

You need to have at least some prior experience using the all of the core tool types described below.

Description:  Demonstrating safe operation of each tool (Table saw, Miter saw, Planer, Jointer, Band saw, Router, Router Table, stationary Sanders).  During the HOST session, you will demonstrate that you can safely use each machine through a series of exercises administered by the examiner.  It is not a test of your woodworking precision, but a test of your safety skills with each tool in our workshop.  Successful completion of the full HOST will result in being issued a Green Card.

Registration Fee: $60.00
(When you have qualified for all core tools certification either through HOST and/or Machine Skills classes, you will be issued a Green Card and a shop timecard worth $60, making the test essentially free.  If you do not pass the full HOST, the $60 shop use card will not be issued until you complete the Machine Skills class covering the section(s) not passed in your HOST.

Partial HOST success will result in certification on your White Card for only those core tool groups passed.  You will need to take the corresponding Machine Skills class for tool groups failed, before qualifying for the full Green Card rather than retaking HOST.  You will be able to purchase a Shop Timecard for your use of the tools you are certified for in Guild's workshop during an Open Shop period.

Registration openings: 4 (4 Candidates with 2 Examiners)

IF YOU NEED TO CANCEL, RETURN TO THIS CLASS REGISTRATION PAGE.  Click the ALREADY REGISTERED BUTTON AND FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS.  Please understand that you must cancel at least 48 hours prior to the HOST session in order to receive a fee credit.  This is because there is typically a waiting list for the test, and that notification is needed in order to notify waitlisted candidates and get them registered.
