Getting Your Shop CardNote: Once you complete the Intro class and Safety Test , which are recorded on the Shop Database, you can participate in Guild volunteer projects including Bench Room, Toy Build, Project Build with mentored machine use. In order to take part in OPEN SHOP, and most WOODWORKING Education classes, you must become Certified to use the Shop Machines. To use the Guild Shop of take certain classes you need to become certified first to safely use the Core Tools, and if desired subsequently on individual advanced tools. Requirements to get Shop Certification for working in the Machine Room or Taking Classes using our power tools, you must:
These classes will provide instruction as well as certifications and will allow you to use specific Core Power Tools in our machine room for your own projects or take classes where the Core Power Tools are used. You are NOT allowed to use tools for which you do not possess certifications. Safety class instructors will record your passing qualification in the Shop Database on an individual tool basis. Card Active Period
The Shop Cards are active as long as you are a paying member of the Guild (Unlimited Use cards expire on the date indicated) and you are "regularly" either taking classes and/or using the shop (community projects or paid for Open shop, etc.).
