  • From the left the boxes are made of birch+ebony binding, birch+purple heart binding and cherry+purple heart binding. The chatoyance of the wood is used to create the pattern.
  • Poplar box from Tom McCloskey veneered in zebra wood.
  • Box covered in kumiko.
  • Box covered in kumiko.
  • 17th century carved chest from plans by Peter Follansbee. White oak and E. white pine.
  • Holiday box in mahogany. Ribbon is scroll sawn from glued up stack of holly, holly veneer and red and green dyed veneers.
  • Box in olive harvested from trees across from my house about 25 years ago. Base is ebonized scrap wood.
  • Another Peter Follansbee box in Alaskan yellow cedar. The carving is a style called strap-work.
  • Box veneered in black limba. Base is ebonized scrap wood.
