Instructor-Dennis Dolph

Note: Completion of the Safety & Orientation (S&O) meeting is required before taking this class.

The Band Saw is considered one of the most versatile tools in a woodworking shop. It can cut boards from logs and slice thin boards from thick ones. On the other hand, it can cut delicate curves and precise joints.

If you are not confident in your mastery of these machines, then this is the class for you. We will discuss best practice for each operation, you will see it demonstrated, and then you will have the opportunity to perform the procedure yourself, hands on. By the end of the class, you should feel comfortable that you can operate these machines safely. Materials will be provided.

This class is designed to help you with Green Card Certification on the Bandsaw and an introduction to the sanding machines.

Please contact Doug Drake at doug.drake@guildoforegonwoodworkers.org with questions.

A Shop Attendant needs to be an intermediate woodworker and is expected to work at least one shift a month, plus attend the monthly SA meeting.

If a member needs a refresher on a certain group of machines, they can sit in on a class for free, provided they have previously taken the class.

Please register online and remit payment at once. Your registration is not complete without payment.
