Table Saw and Chop Saw Skills

Instructor - Mark Klein

Note: Completion of the Safety & Orientation (S&O) meeting is required before taking this class.

This class is designed to help you with Green Card Certification on these machines.

Two of the major tools in most shops are the Table Saw, used for ripping, crosscutting, and bevel cuts, and the Chop Saw, also used for crosscutting. If you feel that you are lacking in knowledge about these saws, then this class is for you.

We will discuss the best practices for each operation of the Table Saw and the Chop Saw. We will demonstrate these safe practices and help you practice them in this class. The small class size will allow plenty of time to ask questions and provide individual attention. By the end of the class you will feel more comfortable in using this machine. Materials will be provided.

Please contact Doug Drake at Doug.drake@guildoforegonwoodworkers.org with questions.

A Shop Attendant needs to be an intermediate woodworker and is expected to work at least one shift a month, plus attend the monthly SA meeting.

If a member needs a refresher on a certain group of machines,  they can sit in on a class for free, provided they have previously taken the class.
