design sequence methodology

We are welcoming a good friend, Kelly Parker, on August 18 via Zoom from her studio in Parkville, MO. Kelly is a master furniture designer/maker whose work has been featured in Fine Woodworking and Australian Wood Review, where she was the featured cover author of an extensive article covering her work and process. She taught workshops for the Guild in 2018 and assisted Michael Fortune in several workshops and classes at the Guild between 2015 and 2018. 

Kelly will walk us through her design sequence methodology, from sketching and modeling through mock-up, construction of jigs to control the process to final fabrication. She will be sharing two examples, one of which was for a client and the other as a project for a recent exhibition.

NEW  - we are trying out having a "Social "Hour" starting at 6:30.  If you login before 7:00, you will go into one of five random waiting room.  The idea is for you to meet and talk with other members in a small group setting.  Introduce yourself and learn more about others in your room.  At 7:00 everyone will be moved into the General Meeting.
