Making Veneer Approachable For Everyone - Veneer Basics

Instructor - Chip Webster

Chip Webster has been restoring fine old furniture for 20 years, often requiring repairing or making new veneer panels for doors, cabinet tops and other components.

Veneers are often used to apply expensive exotic woods or woods with figure or a beautiful grain pattern to a less expensive board. This is an introductory on-line presentation style class on veneering basics. No experience is required. No materials are required. Enjoy the free Zoom class in the comfort of your own shop or home.

In this 1 hour session we will cover:

  • What is veneer?
  • Adhesives used in veneer.
  • Types of clamping systems.
  • Vacuum systems.
  • The process.

This is a good session to prepare a maker to try their hand at veneering a flat panel, on their own. We are planning an interactive, two part class, one week apart, for the student to participate in veneering their own piece, soon. Keep your eyes on the website.

Zoom event: The Zoom Link will be sent a couple of days ahead of the event.
