Training to Become a Shop Attendant (SA)

Instructors: Carol Boyd, Dan Haggerty

This is a training session for members who would like to learn to become a Shop Attendant. The session includes both first aid and shop operations training.  Following this training session,  there are two “shadowing” sessions required to become fully qualified.

Prerequisites: Certification on core tools.  You will need routers before serving alone as SA.  This class will be scheduled once we know how many people need it. You must be an Intermediate level woodworker

You must bring  the following safety equipment:

  • ANSI Z87.1 rated safety glasses if using the machine room.
  • Hearing protection
  • Dust mask

Proof of COVID-19 Vaccine must be on file with Guild prior to signing in for this session. If it is not on file plan on bringing your shot card with your name and dates of vaccine.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are implementing additional safety requirements for those using the shop. Before you arrive for your scheduled session, please ensure the following:

  • You are in good health and not living with anyone who is ill with COVID-19 or experiencing symptoms of a respiratory infection.
  • You are following the CDC guidelines if you have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
