Build a Cutting Board

Instructor - Mike Chia

Assistant - Tbd

Prerequisites: Intro to Guild Safety and Core Tool Certification

Make a Cutting Board

Join us to make a beautiful face-grain cutting board!  This is a great first project-based class after Core Tool Certification to gain more experience in the shop.  The project provides an opportunities to review the milling process and gain more experience in glue-ups.  We will also introduce the router table for pattern routing and making edge profiles.

In this four-hour class, each student will

·        select and mill materials and glue up a blank for a cutting board

·        use the jointer and planer to clean up the blank

·        rough cut the blank on the bandsaw

·        pattern route and round over edges on a router table

All materials will be provided.  Please note, router certification is not required for this class.  However, this class will not certify you for using the router in open shop.
