Instructor-Shou Mo (714) 408-4164
This class is for Professional members only. You must speak with Shou Mo before registering for this class.
Prerequisites: Completion of Intro to the Guild (all members)
This class is designed for the Professional Member to become certified on the "Core tools" and is required to work in the Guild machine room or to take classes using the “core” power tools.
The class consists of one 4-hour session and will certify you on the commonly used "core” power tools: chop saw, bandsaw, jointer, planer, table saw, stationary sanders and the drill press.
The instructor will demonstrate using each tool and discuss safe practices. There will be the opportunity to practice using each tool. By the end of the class, one should feel comfortable operating each tool safely, in accordance with Guild policies and practices. Upon successful completion, the instructor will certify the member on the 7 core tools.
Bring Personal Protective Equipment (Eye and Hearing protection). Materials will be provided. Please review the Core Tool Handout prior to attending the class. It is not necessary to print out a copy to bring in to class as the information is mostly reference material. Save the wood for projects.
