I picked up a used gouge on ebay and didn't realize until I went to sharpen it that the bevel is on the inside/concave side  (in-cannel).  Can this be ground way back on a grinder to establish a bevel on the outside (out-cannel)?  It's a lot of metal to remove and I don't want to ruin the tool.
