Are all bandsaw blades about the same?

I have had no problems using Oregon Carbide Saw cut to order blades. They are inexpensive.  I want to say $16-$24 for 111 inch Rikon. I knew one or two pros who recommended them. I think they are a third of the price of the fancy blades.

There are So many features that often turn out to be nothing more than marketing gimmicks that I often wonder when it matters as in the different chisel metals: a2 o1 PM-v11...

I tend to focus too much on those things.

The next time I buy one I'll be happy to do a comparison if someone with a rikon is up to it.

I use the "Wood Slicer" blades on my Laguna 14bx for resawing and making veneer; very good blades but they have drift just like every other blade.  Where do you get the locally made blades?  I may try them out.

By the way, drift is not caused by blades. It is caused by the table and fence not being parallel to the blade. See Michael Fortune's video on YouTube "Eliminate Bandsaw Drift".

I have bought several at https://www.sawblade.com/ as they have a large selection and great quality.

    Hi Mark,

I'm not a bandsaw expert, but after watching about 14,000 Alex Snodgrass videos where he recommends Carter blades I decided to try one out.

I bought his "favorite", which is the Carter 3/8" 3TPI Green Wood blade for my Rikon 14" saw.

I have to say....it's great. He's right. I can cut some seriously tight radii as well as some really straight lines without much drift. I can't tell you how long it lasts because mine's still sharp and unbroken. But I felt it was a reasonable price, and I got it from Woodcraft locally.

    I hope this helps you.

I usually get my bandsaw blades made locally and they seem pretty decent. I see that Highland Woodworking carries a "Slicer" blade. Is it worth spending 4 times the price for this blade?

    Any thoughts?

Thanks for your input and opinions.
