They should open a store in Gresham. They would control the east side market.  The only woodworking store on the east side is Woodcrafters at NE 6th & Davis, and they aren't open on Sundays.

I was told that Russ, who owns the building and use to run the store, increased rent by 25% to try and exploit them due to his knowledge about how the franchise agreements are structured. He figured they were stuck there because of woodcraft franchise agreement and therefore he could jack up the rent without them being able to do anything. Woodcraft made an exception and allowed them to break the agreement and that’s that. When Russ ran the store years ago, he was the sole reason I stopped shopping there because he’s not a good human being (to put it mildly). The new management is excellent and I’m sad to see them go.

Just askin';  Anyone know the skinny as to why it's closing?  While woodworking is a niche market it seems like the Woodcraft franchise is doing well in other places.  Sorry to see it go!

Just got an email that they are closing at the end of June. I guess if you're looking for tools or deals this would be a great opportunity.  On the other hand, I'm sorry to see them close.
