    Hi Mark,

A few years ago I purchased a SCMI Jointer/Planer machine from a dealer in Atlanta and had it shipped to my place in Scappoose.  It was a display model but otherwise unused.  The dealer offered to ship it in the original crate and everything showed up in great shape.  If this SawStop is truly new, they should be able to package it up as originally shipped and that should be a good solution.  SawStop ships these everyday all over N. America and I'm sure that they have a pretty well-developed system.  I would ask them to use the same carrier that they normally use just to be safe; don't cut corners to save a few bucks.  sjs

I've got an opportunity to get a brand new sawstop pcs which is currently located in north carolina. I just have to pay for freight shipping but I've never dealt with that as a consumer before. Anyone have any experience with something like this or any suggestions for freight companies that would be good to deal with? I'm trying to keep the cost as low as possible. Saw itself isn't full price so there's not an advantage to just buying a new one direct from manufacturer unless shipping ends up similar to the cost of the new saw itself.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!
