John, Flattening and thickness planing should only take a few minutes. Give me a call and I can meet you at the Guild. If you haven’t got it done yet, Isould be happy to assist.

    cheers,

No worries, understand. Hope you can find someone that can get your board flattened in the Guild shop. Just let me know if I can help at all from my end.

Btw, it's only about 35 minutes each way from the Guild shop to Scappoose ;) and a lovely drive to boot :)

Hi. Thanks for the offer. Although I was hoping to just get in touch with someone who is already booked in to use the Multnomah workshop. I live about 10 mins from there, so could easily pop over to meet pretty much whenever. Whereas Scappoose is almost an hour each way :(.

    Hi John,

If you're interested, you're welcome to use my planer & sander to flatten your boards. Slight catch is that I live in Scappoose.

    Hello,

I've just found the Guild and joined up but apparently it takes up to three months before one is approved to use the shop machinary. However, I have a fairly urgent need to flatten out two boards that are too wide for a home desktop planer (the larger is ~14"x18"). Can I ask a friendly member to run them through a wide planer in the Guild workshop for me? Happy to pay you for the shop time / beer money.

    Thanks in advance, John.
